Green and daring, that is how I would describe 3form’s contribution to the office scene. An innovative maker of recycled materials into eco-friendly forms which hold their own with the most upscale office furniture is what 3form seems to be all about. Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, was home to NeoCon 2011 in June featured over 700 exhibitors.
I spent a recent morning in the Herman Miller showroom in the surrounded by friendly staff and their ergo friendly distinguished chairs and office furniturefor which they are known. I was asked to photograph 3Form’s product recently on display at the NeoCon show in this chic showroom.

The 3form custom designed divider on Herman Miller’s Canvas Office Landscape Desk is functional yet brings a serenity with it’s delicate design. Wouldn’t you love to spend a morning working here?

Circles, an ubiquitous shape is far from ordinary when found repeating and offset in color to create a divider, also in the Herman Miller showroom. Another 3form cool custom application of their chroma material, it provides the illusion of a privacy wall without any of the heaviness. Think what it could do for the studio apartment.
My last stop in the Mart was to the La Groupe Lacasse showroom where here 3form clearly defines funk. 3form recently introduced a modular product called Ditto. Ditto was the winner of the Best of Competition Award at the HD Expo 2010, and is made of multitudes of x-shaped pieces that form any number of shapes, walls, or ceilings.
Ditto, made from 40% pre-consumer recycled content material, would be at home in a playroom for adults or children. While vividly striking at a distance, it was even more beautiful closeup, with its curves and rivets creating eye candy.
I hope this is not my last foray into 3form’s wonderful world of color and texture. I have high hopes that my camera and I will be a fixture at the Merchandise Mart and amongst future NeoCon shows.
